There was a pious man in Bani-Israel who stayed alone in a desolate place away from the human settlements. He Worshipped with Devotion and Dedication. Shaitaan was moved by his Dedication and decided to test his Worship so he appeared to him as a beautiful woman. He knocked the door of the Worshipper and requested him to let her spend a night in his house as it was dark and dangerous to stay out alone. Shaitaan who appeared as a woman told him that, “She is an Arab woman and has nowhere to go in this darkness and she feared wild animals who might attack her”! The Worshipper replied humbly that, he cannot let the woman spend night in his house. He added to arrange food or any other thing for her but not the stay. The Woman pleaded that, she is alone and if at all any wild animal attack and kill her then you would bear the responsibility of my killing on the Day of Judgement. Listening to these words the Worshipper turned cold and speechless. Without arguing further the Worshipper allowed the Woman to spend a night.
The Shaitaan clad in the attire of Woman now began to show his colours. The Woman told to the pious man to light the Fire as it was too cold. The Worshipper did whatever the Woman demanded. She stood in front of the Worshipper and revealed her beauty under the tight dress. Her beauty clouded the senses of the Worshipper. She muttered to him that, she is also a very pious and modest woman and she is unmarried and wants to worship with him for the whole night. She further stated, “I want to marry you and want to be your wife”. The Worshipper was left speechless and had sexual intercourse with that woman.
When they were satisfied, the Woman turned into old ugly man - the real face of Shaitaan who shouted, “O Man! You claimed to be the most pious man and the greatest Worshipper? You can't protect yourself from my ill intentions. You are no better than Aadam and your Hut is not a Paradise. If I can deceive Aadam in the Paradise, you are nothing for me". The Worshipper heard a voice from the sky, “O man! You have sinned; not ever repent but repeat all your Prayers afresh”. You have lost all your good deeds because of your Sin.
Quranic Verse: "Who whispers in the hearts of people; whether he be from the jinn or humans" (114:5&6)
Moral: O Sons of Aadam – Be steadfast in conforming to the obligations of the Shari'at in any circumstances. You will be tested in many ways. Shaitaan can whisper or deceive you in any way - in a form of thought or a person and will encourage you to go against the Shari'at. Indeed, Worldly things are deceptive in every way. |
