Alavi Library was inaugurated and elocution competition was held near Taiyebi Masjid on 24th Feb. 2002, Sunday at 4pm in the presence of His Holiness Saiyedna Saheb (TUS). The main purpose of both these events was to develop the quality of leadership in the children, to explore their inner capabilities, to widen their scope of knowledge and to provide them proper guidance. A library in our community was a necessity since long back. Our Saiyedna Saheb (TUS) had a wish to establish a library so that the children of the community could get religious (deeni) as well as general (dunyawi) knowledge. To accomplish this stupendous mission, Saiyedna Saheb (TUS) has granted his own flat at Gulistaan Aptt., Ajwa Road to establish the library. We are thankful to those generous people who have given almost 1200 books to the library. At present, library has vast collection of books consisting of dictionaries, encyclopedias; books on religion, science, history, Qur’an, literature, grammar, news dailies, magazines, general knowledge etc. The establishment of Alavi Library is an important milestone in the progress of our community. Library remains open in the evenings in the weekdays. Our community should take maximum advantage of the library.

On this auspicious occasion, a well known writer and socialist Mr. Gunwant Shah was also invited. He addressed the people after the elocution competition and shared his views and thoughts among the people. He was quite impressed by the progress and the education status of the women in our community. He wished an excellent progress for our community. He awarded prices to the winners of the elocution competition. Hundreds of people participated in this historic event and celebrated a new and golden beginning of the community.
