Saiyedna ‘Ali bin Saiyedna Haatim (aq) initially stayed at the fort of Hutaib where his father spent last days of his life. Tribe of Ya’boor helped and supported Saiyedna ‘Ali (aq) in every possible way in the initial days. But with the passing time, there were many internal conflicts and differences among the members of tribe. In spite of guidance of Saiyedna ‘Ali (aq) sizeable number of people went astray and did not oblige to the obligations of the Shari’at. They sank into the darkness of ignorance and barbarism. Internal turmoil and differences in the Ya’boor tribe between the believers and non believers prompted Saiyedna ‘Ali (aq) to shift the base of Da’wat from Hutaib Mubaarak to Sana’a city in Yaman. Under the Da’iship of Saiyedna ‘Ali (aq), the beliefs and devotion of the mumineen attained new heights. Saiyedna ‘Ali (aq) gave a new dimension to the Mission of Da’wat of Allaah by guarding the rights of mumineen from the ignorant and tyrant people and saved them from misery by giving them the shield of knowledge of Ahl ul-Bayt (as).

Saiyedna ‘Ali bin Mohammad al-Waleed (aq) was Mazoon-e-Mutlaq in Sana’a when Saiyedna ‘Ali (aq) shifted from Hutaib to Sana’a. He looked after the administration of Da’wat. When Saiyedna ‘Ali (aq) came to Sana’a, mumineen gathered to give a warm welcome to their Da’i and gave Misaaq to him. He stayed in the house of Saiyedna ‘Ali bin Mohammad al-Waleed (aq) and designated the same as Devdi Mubaarak in Sana'a. He never gave up encouraging the people of Ya’boor to return to the path of Allaah. He sent numerous representatives and messengers for their guidance. But indeed, Allaah gives guidance to those who deserve. Alas, they continued to wander in the pathless jungle of ignorance. They killed Haatim bin Sabaa who was the Sultaan (ruler) of Sana’a city. Many of them died the death of ignorance and gradually the whole tribe lost its identity. Those who were the believers among them returned to Saiyedna ‘Ali (aq) in Sana’a leaving behind others.

Saiyedna ‘Ali (aq) spent much of his life in Sana’a except in his last days when he was in the Fort of Zamarmar. He went to the Fort of Zamarmar to iron out the internal differences between his brothers. He prepared necessary documents among his brothers and handed over respective responsibilities to them to prevent any future conflict. He stayed there till his last days. Most distinguished work during the period of his Da’wat was to resolve the internal conflicts among the different groups and tribes of mumineen. He urged them to forget their generational pride and arrogance and lead life in the Khidmat of Da’wat and conform to the path of Allaah. Elevating the mumineen from the worldly matter and guiding them towards their destiny was an unparalleled task which Saiyedna ‘Ali (aq) successfully executed though he faced many challenges and difficulties.

In the last days of his life Saiyedna ‘Ali (aq) called his Hudood and companions in the Fort of Zamarmar and did Nass-e-Jali and appointed Saiyedna ‘Ali bin Mohammad al-Waleed (aq) as the 5th Da’i ul-Mutlaq after him. After his death, his body was brought to Sana’a city in a palanquin (palkhee). There is also an account stating that Saiyedna ‘Ali (aq) was martyred by poisoning him.

One of the disciples of Imaam Ja’far us-Saadiq (as) put forward a question to him, ‘O our Maulaa, O Imaam-e-Haqq (truthful Imaam), has Allaah Ta’aala compelled His followers to do His disobedience? Allaah Ta’aala is very just and righteous that He ever compels his followers to do His disobedience and then curses and punishes them for the same? Is this a favour from Allaah? Imaam (as) replied that, Disobedience is neither a compulsion nor a favour from Allaah. Whoever does good deeds in his life and obeys Allaah and surrenders himself to us is safe and guarded. Whoever does evil and disobeys Allaah and does enmity with us is cursed and punished.

Allaah has given intellect to the human which is not there in any of His Creations. It is through this intellect that a human decides what is correct and incorrect for him. There is Shari’at laid down by Allaah for him which consists of rules and regulations which everyone of us has to follow. In spite of intellect and Shari’at if one still disobeys the words of Allaah then he deserves curse and punishment. Allaah has sent His Nabi, Wasi and Imaam (as) to make people understand the true meaning of Shari’at and they are the one who guides the people to righteous path. Hence only Intellect or only Shari’at does not suffice but a right combination and use of Intellect in understanding the Shari’at of Allaah from the Nabi, Wasi, Imaam or Da’i makes one successful in this Life and the Hereafter.

  Saiyedna ‘Ali bin Saiyedna Haatim (aq) compiled the book, Rauzat ul-Hekam is-Saafiyah wa Bustaan ul-‘Uloom il-Waafiyah which has 17 questions of ‘Ilm-e-Haqeeqat (Esoteric interpretations). Answer to the questions are based on the books of Saiyedna Abu Ya’qoob as Sijistaani (aq) and Saiyedna Mo’aiyad Sheeraazi (aq) namely Kitaab ul-Bashaaraat and al-Majaalis ul-Mo’aiyadiyah. It specially focuses on the sayings of Imaam Mohammad ul-Baaqir (as) and Imaam Ja’far us-Saadiq (as). Questions are pertaining to the Spiritual Ranks, Maulaana Qaa’im ul-Qayaamah (as), Nafs (Soul), Hudood-e-‘Ulviyah (Higher Ranks), Noor (Glory), Daur-e-Nubuwat (Period of Prophet hood), Ambeyaa (as) (Prophets) and the significance of Rasoolullaah (saws) and Maulaana ‘Ali (as).
