AN
ELEGERIC COMPOSITION
By
The Poet of Ahl-e-Bayt (AS)
Al-Faazil
Ibn -e-Hammaad (RA)

“Khair
ul-anaame Mohammadun wa Waseyohu,
wal barrat uz-Zahrae wal Hasanaani.”
Mohammad Rasulullah (SAWS) and
his deputy Ali Waliyullah (AS) are the most excellent of the people.
Maulatana Fatema (AS) and Husnain (AS) are the kindest of the people.

“Qaumun
behim koshefal ‘amaa wa be hadyehim,
Hodiyal waraa min hayrat it-tughyaani.”
With the entreaty of this Khamsat ul-Athaar (AS),
the vision of the eyes of Islamic Community has attained brilliance
and with their guidance, the people have been enlightened to the
right path from the darkness of ignorance.

“Man
la totimmo salaatona illa behim,
Wa behim yonaadi waqta kulle azaani.”
The one who offers his prayers without remembering
them (Khamsat ul-Athaar), is illogical, and the call of
every prayer comes with their names.

“Khozzaano
‘ilmillahe mahbato wahyehi,
Wal mauzehuna sharaa'e il-imaani.”
Khamsat ul-Athaar (AS) is the treasurer of the
spiritual knowledge and bounty of Allah and is the place of His
divine revelation, and they are the one who have clarified and declared
the Laws of Islam (Shari'at).

“A'alaamo
deenillahe arkaan al-hodaa,
Sofonun najaate da'aaim ul-imaani.”
Khamsat ul-Athaar (AS) is the recognition of the
religion of Allah, its pinnacle, the pillars of guidance, the arks
of salvation and the foundation of faith (Imaan).

“Wala
qad waqafto be Karbalae fa jaddadat,
Kurbi wa azkato fil hasaa ahzaani.”
The poet says when I stood in the Karbala , my
grief mounted, and my sorrows enlivened in my heart.

“Wa
zakarto fi ‘aashure masra'e Saiyedi,
Asafan ‘alaa Maulae zil ‘atshaani.”
I remembered the condition of the dead body of
my master, Imam Husain (AS), on the Day of ‘Aashura with desperate
heart and I reiterated the hardships of my thirsty Imam Husain (AS).

“Fi
fityatin bazalun nofusa le nusratin,
Fillahe min shaybin wa min shabbaani.”
For the sustenance of the religion of Allah, the
young and the old associates sacrificed their lives for Imam Husain
(AS).

“Wa
le abkiyanna ‘alal Husaine wa sohbehi,
Be damin wa dam'in daa'emin hattaani.”
I did weep a lot on Imam Husain (AS) and his associates,
with the blood and tears which always flow.

“Wa
le abkiyanna ‘alal qateele be Karbala
,
‘Uryaana matruhan bela akfaani.”
I did weep a lot on the martyrs of Karbala , whose
bodies were left behind without kafan at the site of their
martyrdom.

“Wa
le abkiyanna ‘alaa banaate Mohammadin,
Musbeeyatin biz zulme wal ‘udwaani.”
I did weep a lot on the grand daughters of Rasulullah
(SAWS), who were imprisoned with cruelty and oppression.

“Ma
‘uzro qaatil Ahl-e-Bayt-e-Mohammadin,
Fil hashre indal Waahid il-Mannaani.”
And in what way will the assassin of Ahl-ul-Bayt
(AS) of Rasulullah (SAWS) make an excuse in front of Allah, the
only one, on the Day of Judgement.

“Sallal
ilaaho ‘alan nabiye wa aalehi,
Ma gharradal qumriyo fil aghsaani.”
Bestow Your blessings and bounty, O Allah, upon
Mohammad Rasulullah (SAWS) and his progeny till the birds croon
their fine tunes on the twigs of the trees.
Note: - This Qaseeda-e-Mubaaraka
is recited by the assembly of Da'wat in the beginning of every majaalis
of the month of Moharram ul-Haraam.
