Introduction

Nikaah of Purity is the Foundation of the Faithful Family al-Hubbo min Shiyam il-Karam - Love is a Character of Benevolence Allaah Ta’aala says in the Qur’an, “Wa min aayaatehi, an khalaqa lakum-min anfosekum azwaajal-letaskonu elayhaa wa ja’ala baynakum-mawaddatan wa rahmatan inna fee zaaleka la-aayaatil-leqaumin yatafakkaroon” ‘And among His Signs is this, that He created for you pairs (wives) from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for the people who comprehend.’ (21/30) “Wa howal-lazee khalaqa minal maa’e basharan faja’alahu nasaban wa sehraa wa kaana rabboka qadeera” ‘And it is He Who has created man from water, and has appointed from him kindred by blood, and kindred by marriage. And your Lord is Ever All-Powerful to do what He will.’ (54/25) Rasoolullaah (saws) has said that, If one wishes to meet Allaah with piety and purity, then he should marry a woman and be devoted to the Deen of Allaah. And if one wishes to adopt my character then he should follow my Sunnat (practices) and ‘to get married’ is one of my Sunnat (others being applying itr (attar) and brushing the teeth). He has also said that, The moment a faithful man marries a faithful woman then Shaitaan screams out of misfortune that, ‘This man has guarded two third of his Deen (religion)’ and for the remaining one third he should follow the other obligations of the Shari’at. By doing this, he will indeed save his Deen from the hands of Shaitaan. Whenever someone from his Ashaab (companions) got married, Rasoolullaah (saws) used to say “Kamola Deenohu”,  means ‘His religion has completed.’ Imaam Ja’far us-Saadiq (as) has said that, Four things are from the character of Ambiyaa (as) viz. cleanliness, applying itr, shaving the body hair and marriage. He has said that, five things are the signs of prosperity and good fortune; they are 1) Virtuous wife 2) Righteous children 3) Honest friends 4) Livelihood in the birth place and 5) Love of Ahl ul-Bayt (as) and Aal-e-Mohammad (as). Rasoolullaah (saws) has said that, A virtuous wife cannot be compared with gold and silver as she is more precious than it and an immoral and disobedient wife cannot be compared with the dust as it is more inferior to it in her character. He has also said, You should not marry a woman for the sake of wealth and beauty as her wealth will tyrannise you and her beauty will destroy you. Rasoolullaah (saws) has said that, There is no “Tarahhub” (monasticism, bachelorship or shunning marriage) in Islaam. He has said that, ‘It will be a matter of pride for me to see my Ummat in majority on the Day of Qayaamat.’  Islaam encourages marriage which indeed saves the people from all other evil of the society. Everything that has been on this earth is in pairs.  In each thing our Lord has kept good attributes but it is a human-being who alter these attributes in order to get his worldly desires fulfilled.  Therefore, we urge our beloved mumineen to take this feature in good faith and spirit with the aim of taking maximum benefit out of it. Mumineen who are residing in Baroda or out of Baroda or far from the Alavi locality or abroad and whose children has crossed the respectable age of marriage but are still unmarried should register themselves.  This will, Insha-Allaah, prove the best medium to put their details and get information about others too.  It is not that only those who have lost hope of getting good proposals should go for this, but mumineen who have delayed their marriage due to their personal reasons or taken divorce or became widowed should also apply. Marriage of a mumin is the way of perfection of his Imaan.   We pray for every Alavi brother that Allaah Ta’aala bestow him with faithful and pious wife and every Alavi sister get noble and affectionate husband. Huzoor-e-‘Aali Saiyedna saheb (tus) says in his kalaam of Hidaayat that, Mumineen should marry their daughters as early as possible after offering Bay’at-e-Imaam uz-Zamaan (as) i.e. attaining the age of puberty. Mumineen should advise their sons to opt for higher studies, do business but avoid job or service. After getting higher studies, mumineen should always encourage their sons to continue with and flourish their ancestral business and take it to new heights of success. Mumineen should first engage their daughters in our community before opting for higher education. Marriage should be given preference over career. Mumineen should deny their daughters for doing job and train them to make looking after their family a top priority after the marriage. Job should not hamper the imaani environment of the house. Mumineen should bear in their mind that with every comfort there is hardship.  If a married couple understands and faces these two facts of life with togetherness, sacrifice, tolerance and faith, then their bond of love will strengthen further. Alavi Bohras are now not confined to only Vadodara or Mumbai. They are scattered at all places over the globe. Looking at the complexity of the distribution of Alavi Bohra Mumineen, it is the wish of Huzoor-e-‘Aali (tus) that in the age of information technology unmarried boys and girls who are in search of their life-partners should come forward and register themselves on one platform (on our website) so that it is easier for the mumineen either to propose or to inquire about specific information for the marriage. It is his wish that every Alavi boy or girl should get his/her partner from Alavi Jamaa’at.
